Hi crafty people!
It’s Nuneka on the blog today with a new mixed media layout full of mystery. I’ve been saving my favorite page from Serendipitous Mini Collection for a special moment and I finally found the perfect photo! So I took Rain Storm page and the exclusive sheet of laser cut elements that come with the collection and started playing around until the idea came to me: I turned the page 90º so the design was not left-right anymore, but up-down.
I protected the paper with clear gesso and added some interest to the background with texture paste and a stencil. Then I prepared the elements of the composition, in this case, one of the exclusive chipboard sets from The Dusty Attic in collaboration with 49 and Market. I chose gears because they perfectly matched the paper design and color them with liquid acrylics. I also die cut some leaves and colored them with the same Magical I would use later for the background.
Talking about the background! I decided to add a delicate touch with some of my favorite stamps (Gabi’s Ethereal and In Between) and different embossing powders. I selected some beautiful flowers (Country Blooms and Pixie Petals) and inked the edges for a more dramatic look. I built the composition in two main areas connected by the color line, and I use the laser cut elements, chipboards, flowers, and leaves at different levels to add dimension.
Some final touches were needed, such as some micro beads over the flowers and metallic wax on the gears to add light… and some white splatters for that mystic look!
