Hi there dear 49 and Market fans!
I was organizing my old photos and I came across this old photo of my mom and dad on the day they got engaged. I really like this photograph of them, they look so young and innocent. It felt like this was a day to be recorded because it was so special! The new Curators Botanical collection has some vintage folio papers that remind me of recordkeeping which appealed to me. And the blue paper in the Curators Botanical Solids pack was perfect for what I had in mind.
I used the beautiful powder blue paper, Curators Botanical Solids 2, to frame my layout. I trimmed the Florilegia paper to 11.5” x 11.5” and distressed all around except the top edge. I used a border punch on the top edge. I wanted to accentuate the blue and used blue watercolor paint to splatter randomly across the page after I painted it with Clear Gesso.
To create a romantic feel, I used a piece of white trim with the rest of the layering. Besides the frame, I also used 2 pieces of the 4×6 file frameset. I stamped leaves with grey ink and again used watercolor paint to add more color to the page.
I created an embellishment cluster with ephemera bits and flowers on the right side of the photo. The white flowers were colored with blue watercolor paint and Champagne All-Purpose Ink. The title sentiment is raised with foam tape.
A second embellishment cluster on the left-hand side of the photo completes the layout. I added some rub-on transfers as a finishing touch.
