For this layout, I decided to go back to some older collections – combining Vintage Artistry Natural Mini Collection with touches of Vintage Artistry Essentials embellishments. I love the subtle tones and textures in this collection and it was perfect for this family photo which we took on Christmas Day. Although the photo was taken at Christmas, I didn’t want to scrapbook it as a Christmas photo so I turned it black and white which works perfectly with this collection.
I started with the Wallflower paper which is still available in the Collection Pack. I distressed the edges of this paper and added strips of the stitched washi tape to give the effect of random stitching around the outside edge.
I then created a layered stack of elements from the Natural Collage Stack which I used to mat my photo. I finished that stack with a torn notebook edge from the Curators Essential Laser cut elements. I love the effect that this laser cut edge provides.
I placed the photo and stacked mat on the page in a way that the printed flowers on the paper would curl up the right and over the top of the photo. I then added extra flowers from the laser cut sheets in the Natural Collection pack with foam tape to pop them up.
I then created four clusters of embellishments to frame the photo. The first cluster on the left of the photo was made with elements from the laser cut sheets in the Natural Collection pack, Royal Posies Ivory paper flowers in three different sizes, a label from the Natural Collage Stack, chipboard screw, and word strips from the Essentials Chipboard Stickers and a butterfly and word sticker from the Essentials Wishing Bubbles and Trinkets.
The second cluster below the photo is made with a combination of Royal Posies Ivory paper flowers and Royal Spray Olive paper flowers. It is finished with a button from the laser cut sheets in the Natural Collection pack and a screw from the Essentials Chipboard Stickers.
The third cluster is to the right of the photo and includes a stamp, butterfly, button, and flower from the laser cut sheets in the Natural Collection pack, a heart, screw, and hinge from the Essentials Chipboard Stickers. The paper flower was finished with a leaf from the Royal Spray Olive paper flowers.
The final cluster at the top of the photo has Royal Posies Ivory paper flowers in three different sizes, a heart and two butterflies from the Essentials Wishing Bubbles and Trinkets, and a lovely word phrase from the laser cut sheets which has been popped up over a flower.
The important thing to note about the clusters is they share common elements to tie them all together.
