“Sweet Memories”by Tina Ollett

Hello and welcome. Tina O with you tonight to bring you my next instalment of 49andmarket creativity! It has been a very busy week around here going back to school and trying to resume to a little bit of normality if I can say that. But still finding the time to fit in creativity has been difficult as I am sure you all find this too! My creativity time is a very early 4.30am. And this morning I found myself waking at a crazy 3.15am. So I figure my body had enough rest it was time to finish this layout and that I did.

I have titled this “Sweet Memories”

This layout I found really came about much quicker than most. Well the main design as I used strips of previously used papers to complete it. I have mixed a little of Heirloom Botanicals with the gorgeous Flower Fairies of Spring collection. I have never ever used apricots mixed with purples and green so this was quite different for me colourwise. I had gotten part way through and it simply wasn’t working. I found adding in a little matt black helped to keep the embellies from falling into the layout.

As I mentioned my base was made up of torn papers. That of the Heirloom Botanicals, Passage paper was torn several times and layered over a length of lace and across the base of the Flowers Fairies of Spring’s  “Windflower”. I love this piece, it is just soft and so very gorgeous and perfect for that something kind of magical themed layout.

Above you can see some of the stenciling that I did on the Flower Fairies base paper. Here I used Dusty Attics “Heart Attack” stencil with a little texture paste. I have coloured the hearts with some Twinkling H2O’s and gesso to soften it a little more after colouring.

I had  lots of fun layering cut pieces from the Flower Fairies of Spring’s Ephemera paper along with lots of little Dusty Attic mini’s including the hearts and the little birdhouse. I love myself a birdbath when creating garden settings so that was a must have. All these added chippies were either coloured with gesso or crackle paste and edged with a little Distress Black Soot and then some Ranger Star Dust Stickles. Love it to sparkle and shine when it comes to pretty layouts like this. And also because I was instructed to by my eldest daughter.

You can see here the layering of papers, chippies, leaves and lots and lots of 49andMarket floral beauties.
