Hello and welcome 49 and Market friends. Today I have a sweet little layout hopefully to inspire you to create something with those holiday snaps that we all take but alas sometimes just never get scrapped. My project here today has been called “Sunshine”. And the photo of my eldest daughter was taken 3 years ago on our trip we made to Taiwan with our Taekwondo friends for a competition. We saw some most beautiful country on our travels.
I used two sheets of the “Vintage Remnants” Paper No 04. It was the green from these papers that really caught my eye. I looked hard for the photo just perfect to match. I did a little layering of papers for the underneath of my photo. They were heavily distressed and layered. The background page consists of strips of paper that have been alternated and distressed and some of them sanded to give the feel of a time gone by.
Also with my leftover paper, I did something that I have not done in a long time and that is to double up my papers (adhering them back to back and twisting them to give a path for the train tracks in the photo to follow along with). I love to find different ways to frame my photos. But of course I do this also by using clusters of flowers. I have used a pack of Stargazers in the Simply White to make my clusters with. The stamens or centres of my flowers were coloured similarly to the Dusty Attic chipboard frame used over my photo. To do this I used Tim Holtz’s Distress Ink in Forest Moss and diluted it down with a little water and carefully coloured the centres. This always helps to make the starkness of the white pop.
You will see that I have popped in a little Burlap and also I tied a double bow to hold the leaf stem in place. I have also the cute little bird from the reverse of the Cut Out Sheet of the “Sweet Reflections” Collections to sit at the right of the page. It is very cute don’t you think?
Products I Used:
- Dusty Attic Chipboards
- Tim Holtz Distress Clear Crackle
- Distress Inks
- Star Dust Stickles
- White gesso
Well that is all I have for you today. I do hope you have enjoyed my little project using the gorgeous Vintage Remnants collection. Until next time happy crafting and take care.
