Hello beautiful people.
Today I want to show you my first April work for the blog, a layout with a photograph with backlight of my 9 year old son Marcos, it’s a very special project since it defines us a lot, my family and I are very connected to the sea and I can’t think of a better way than using the Vintage Artistry Shore 12×12 Collection Pack.
For the background of the layout, I chose the bonus page. I added some textures with paste and pigments, with a previous layer of transparent gesso to cover the pore of the paper and make better control of the paintings and be able to respect the illustrations. I have added chunks of Vintage Artistry Wedgewood Washi Tape and Vintage Artistry Shore Rub-Ons creating a contrasting background.
With a frame from the collection laser cuts, I have framed the photograph, for both main and secondary compositions I used Vintage Artistry Shore Ephemera Stack and the collection laser cuts, with the help of 2mm cardboard, gradually creating volumes to create better visual focus.
As a message for my project, I have cut out one of the phrases from the collection (it’s a beach thing). Once it’s pasted over the Vintage Artistry Wedgewood Washi Tape, I have created shadows to give it depth.
For better integration, I have added moonstones previously painted with pigment, gold fairy dust, and flake glitter.
As a final finish, I have shaded the compositions and edges of the project, I have splashed with both white gesso and emerald pigment and I have skirted the project with a rope giving a more marine touch.
