Hi there Audrey back again showcasing the new Vintage Artistry Essentials in a layout that’s very special to me.
What a beautiful natural collection created by 49 and Market along with designer Katie Pertiet. I used the Vintage Artistry Essential 12×12 Collection Pack and also the Vintage Artistry Essential 6×8 Collection Pack.
These moments spent with family are so precious. My Granddaughter Cadence wanted to learn how to fish and who better to teach her than her 81yr old Great Grandad. He’s a pro and such a trooper. During a family beach fishing competition, while we were on holidays earlier this year, he made the hard trek (for him) onto the beach. He knew how excited Cadence was to be part of the evening. We’re so blessed to be able to have these family times and I will treasure memories like this forevermore. I don’t think Cadence realized at the time how special times like this are. I know when she looks back on pages and memories, it will come to her. This is why I love scrapbooking as a craft, so much. It not only gets us creating but showcases our memories and documents these kinds of moments.
I started with the Vintage Artistry Essential – Virtue paper as my base. I played with pieces from the laser cut sheets from both the Vintage Artistry Essentials 12×12 Collection Pack and it’s little Mini Me Collection, the 6×8 Collection pack. Once I chose the pieces I wanted to use, I used a sharp blade to cut around the leaves on the left side of the Virtue paper so that the leaves could sit over the frames. I layered paper and laser-cut pieces behind frames. I love, love, love the twig wreath from the sheet. To add some texture behind the wreath I added some jute. I chose the 5ply jute but pulled individual threads from the length I cut. I applied some foam tape (for height) and normal tape, to spots at the back of the wreath, stuck the jute, loosely and some dyed muslin in place, and then adhered it to the page. I played with the placement of the other laser cut pieces until I was happy and glued them in place over the wreath. I then tuck some wire pieces from the Sugar Petals – Blue Raspberry pack. Added a little curve to them and glued them in place as part of the flower arrangement on the wreath.
To finish off I added the quote and words along with rub-on transfers from three different packs. (see the product list for each one.)
I hope you find some creative time real soon, don’t forget to share what you’ve been up to on the 49 and Market Fans, Facebook page. You can even join in the monthly sketch challenge and win yourself some awesome 49 and Market product.
When you separate the plaited 5-ply jute into individual threads of jute, they have a kink to them. Like braided hair when you take the braid out. I really like the effect. Plus if you run out of the single-ply Jute you can separate the 5ply!
