I have a thing for indoor plants, and I regularly add new “babies” to my collection. This time I was in Christchurch and there was no way that I could leave my new plant in the hot car while I went and had breakfast with a friend. So of course, it had to come with me! The beautiful colours in the Spectrum Sherbert collection were perfect for these funny photos.
I started with the Spectrum Sherbert Painted Foundations Rainbow which is available either individually or as part of the Sherbert Foundations Pack. I have used two 3×2 inch photos of me with my precious plant and decided to create a design that used the centre printed design on the paper as the foundation for my photos.
I made some punchinella style paper pieces from the front cover of the Sherbert Foundations Pack using a die from my stash. I then matched up the colours in the paper pieces with the colours in the printed paper so that they sat on either side of the photos.
I then used a selection of leaves from the Vintage Artistry Essential Mini Foliage and rub-on leaves from the Spectrum Sherbert 6×8 Leaves Rub-on Transfer Set to create a frame around the bottom of the paper. I also included some of the single-leaf rub-ons so that it looked like leaves were falling from the cluster.
I attached two butterflies from the Spectrum Sherbert Strawberry Lemonade Acetate Leaves to the left and top of the photos and popped a film strip and torn notebook edge from the Spectrum Sherbert Essential Laser Cut Elements on the right of the photos.
Under the leaves, I made a cluster for the title using Chipboard Words, a label from the Spectrum Sherbert Essential Laser Cut Elements, and a leaf and butterfly from the Spectrum Sherbert Strawberry Lemonade Acetate Leaves.
It is always hard to do when the layout is nearly completed, but I cut away sections on the left and right of the layout, distressed the edges, and added strips of the lime green paper from Spectrum Sherbert Solid Lime behind the cutouts. Little torn strips of washi tape from the Spectrum Sherbert Washi Tape Assortment Set at the top and bottom of the layout were the final touch.
There is a process video that shows you exactly how I created this fun layout if you are interested in knowing more.
