Me again, my turn on the 49 and Market Blog seems to come around very fast. I’d like to share a little Christmas project with you.
We’ve recently had school holidays here and one of the projects we did during them was a raised planter box to start a little vegetable garden, made from repurposed wooden pallets. There was a heap of scrap wood left from the first planter so I’ve been making bits and pieces from the scraps and this is how the ONE Christmas house turned into a village. I just couldn’t stop at one. I was having so much fun.
What’s Christmas without some traditional Christmas colours. Vintage Artistry- Noel is a beautiful blend of traditional and also a hit of brighter tones like pink.
I was excited to see how the new matching rub-ons went on a material other than paper. I wasn’t disappointed. They also rubbed on over the raw wood and the texture from the gauze and plaster used on the houses. you just need to take a little more care while rubbing and removing the paper away from the rub-on. I’d also suggest using a matt sealer or varnish over them for longevity.
Now don’t look too close, they really are rustic. While my very talented and clever 80yr old Dad helped with the planter box, I take full responsibility for the apexes of the roofs of these houses. There was no measurements made before the cuts and this added to the rustic look even more!😄
You can see lots more on my blog.
