Hello, 49 and Market fans!
Thanks for heading to the blog today. I’m sharing with you a new layout, slightly different from the latest ones I’ve done. This time, I decided to go with only a two-color combo: blue and white, and stick to them to create a project based on the sea. For this reason, I chose a photo made by a Spanish photographer in which you can see like an angel over the ocean (thanks to Sinu Mora for letting me use this image).
The first thing was the most difficult one: looking for the perfect background paper. It is from the lovely Seaside collection, from which I also took the laser cuts. I started by covering this page with clear gesso and gluing it onto a 2 mm cardboard. Afterward, I used some white crackle paste through a text stencil and stamped some beautiful “sea” designs from Gabrielle Pollacco’s stamps. These first steps are not complete without adding color to the cardboard border: I used some blue Distress ink to make it.
I wanted the composition to be as simple as possible (not easy at all for me…) so I decided to start gluing two resin pieces and work from that point. These pieces were painted with Lindy’s and some Old Silver wax. I selected some white and blue flowers from my 49&Market stash and combined them with laser cuts (mainly leaves) to create a good environment for other elements. I also added some real seashells I took from the beach last year and that were waiting for their turn to be on a project. To finish the layout, I just added art stones, wishing bubbles and some color splashes.
