Owl – Mixed media panel by Pascale B.

Hello Sweeties,

Today I’m up on 49 and Market blog with a mixed media panel. I worked with several collections. As you can see they all worked well together. 

I primed the HDF panel with white gesso before gluing the washi tape from the VA Anywhere collection. To glue the washi tape, I used soft matte gel. Next, I tore a strip from the bonus page from the VA Hike More collection pack and another from the Ginger Peach page – VA Mango collection. I glued these strips too. Next, I primed everything with clear gesso before the next step. 

I added a design with a stencil and Golden Nugget paste. Then, I colored the washi tape with Burnt Sienna and Carmine liquid acrylic paints. 

I colored a few Butterscotch Sugar Posies with the Carmine paint as well as I wanted them to have a color that matched the owl’s eyes. 
I colored the Whitewashed Frame with Burnt Sienna to mimic a wood frame. I stacked some VA Mango Ephemera elements and laser cut from the VA In the Leave collection. I used a binder clip to attach them as well as the photo to the frame.  

I glued all the Sugar Posies, the Rustic Bouquet, and the Foliage leaves with 3D gel. I added also some natural elements like alder’s fruits or feathers. 

To finish, I decided to add some splatters of metallic flakes as well. I used a stamp with a splatters design to add the gilding glue.
