Hello, 49 and Market fans!
Antonia with you today sharing a new layout. Please, take a look at my background paper of today’s project… Do you guess? Yes, it’s a sheet from the Christmas collection pack. Where other people see a specific time paper, I see just a paper to play with. And it was perfect for this green and orange layout.
How do you create your layouts? Which is the process you follow (if you do it!)? Well, I tend to take out all my papers and embellishments so the room is like a market. Starting with the photo as focus point, I select the background paper, then flowers and finally other embellishments that will help me to create a good page. This may include washi tape, 3D layered embellishments, laser cuts or rub-ons. With all this, I create a draft composition to see how everything will fit on the final page. And when everything is clear, I drop everything on a box, try to get order around and start creating.
On today’s layout, I’ve used this photo made by @lana.photo.spain. I fell in love with it some weeks ago and was willing to have permission to use it. Red-haired people are mesmerizing to me! And I’ve also stuck to the March sketch (wonderful one, please take time to enter the challenge!) If you do participate, don’t forget to upload your version to the 49andMarket FB fan page album. You could be the winner of a big pack of 49 & Market products!! Check all details at the end of this post.
To start with, I flipped the sketch and decided to glue down two sheets of paper but not in the right position. Then, I matted the photo with some paper stacks (Wedgewood collection). While my chipboard was aside drying, I took some time to play with layered embellishments. Those leaves in green and orange were perfect and I wanted to benefit from that. As I love layers, I took also some laser-cut leaves to add here and there. Finally, I added flowers, mostly in white to help contrasting colors. Afterward, I picked some rub-on packs to start adding beautiful designs here and there: I used words, leaves, ink splashes, some beads… all of them are perfect!
When this was done I started with the composition. I first glued down the left side, to ensure that the photo was highlighted enough. Then, I worked with the right side. This took more time than desired, but I wanted to add more and more layers and elements! Finally, I took some beads and microspheres to give the final touches.
