Nuneka today on the blog with a very special project I’ve created using only blue color. This is one of my favorite techniques, I love monochromatic pieces, playing with different shades of the same color to create depth and also light points. It may seem easy, but you need to find the balance between the elements so everything in the project makes sense. Fortunately, 49 and Market has all the elements you need to make a project like this, from papers to flowers, embellishments, and stamps. Let’s do it!
I selected my favorite paper (Admit One) from the new paper collection Vintage Artistry in Color – Sky. I protected it with clear gesso and applied texture paste through a stencil where I wanted to place the main cluster and the two mini clusters. I added blue colors with Lindy’s sprays using two shades of blue to add depth. To create some light, I made splatters with white gouache.
To embellish the focal point (a beautiful photo by @kingfer_photography) I used a delicate set of chipboards by The Dusty Attic and a nice combination of 49 and Market flowers: Country Blooms in cobalt and Sugar Posies in fluff. I cut some pieces of cheesecloth and used them as leaves, then I stuck some Wishing Bubbles in blueberry color here and there.
To finish my layout, I added some stamping with Ticket Express stamp, which coordinates with the paper collection. I stuck a little badged with a sentiment and glued just some few microbeads and glitter here and there for extra light. Finally, I made some splatters with the blue sprays to add movement.
