I love the beautiful apricots and teals in the ARToptions Alena collection. For today’s project I have chosen to use several shades of teal with the bright apricots coming in as floral embellishments to scrapbook this photo of a weekend away with my scrapbooking friends.
I started with the ARToptions Alena Garland paper, layering a seven inch strip of Happy Dancers down the right hand side. You are then left with the beautiful floral edge from the Garland paper showing on the left. I then used a salvage strip with the teal lace from one of the pattered papers along the edge where Happy Dancers paper overlaps the Garland paper.
The photo is a 4×6 inch photo. Behind the photo I layered a frame and a torn piece from the Alena Ephemera Bits. I then attached the photo with the left edge running along the lace salvage strip towards the bottom of the layout.
I then tucked some tickets from the Alena Ephemera Bits under the edge of the salvage strip neat the photo – tip – cut your tickets down if you can’t tuck them fully under so they look like they are tucked under.
I then added one of the ribbons from the Alena Laser Cut Outs from the left edge of the layout towards the photo. If it is not quite long enough, it doesn’t matter as I then cover the right end with a cluster of flowers and foliage from the Alena Ephemera Bits. I also included a frame from the Ephemera Bits and a chipboard word circle from the Chipboard Pieces next to the flower cluster at the bottom of the photo.
Distress rubons from the 6×8 Rub-on Transfer Set worked perfectly along the right side of the lace salvage strip piece to tie the two pieces together. A phrase from the same rubons worked as my title above the photo.
The final touch was the butterfly from the3 Ephemera Bits, which I trimmed the white edge off, and a couple of words strips from the same pack that I added to the top right corner of the photo.
There is a process video available to show you exactly how this layout came together.
