“Merry Christmas” by Tina Ollett

Welcome 49andMarket friends ! I hope this post finds you well.

Well I am sure that we are all feeling it ….. the festive season, it’s already upon us. We here in Australia we have been seeing it in the shops for the past month already. So I thought it only fitting to do something a little festive with the new collection “Winters Edge”….

I have used this gorgeous photo of my two eldest from a Christmas a long time ago. These two have now graduated school and are out in the big old world doing their own things. So when I think of Christmas these days, I always seem to revert back to when the kids were much younger. Back when I use to dress them up and make them sit for an hour to get that one photo to put on the front of the yearly letter to all those that we would send out Christmas cards too. My poor kids. Well they survived all those Christmas photos, but lets just say these days it is a rare occassion to get a photo of them together at all on Christmas Day.

So more about the project.

For this layout I did what I call paper saving. where I gut the centre of one piece to use the outer for the first border. The inner leftover is then used for a smaller frame and then the extra from that is used for photo matting. I love this technique as it really makes you think about what you are using. And of course it saves you money. So this was my starting point. From here I did some Stenciling with the Dusty Attic Starry Nights stencil and some Paper Texture Paste. I also added in some Star Dust Stickles to make every thing glitter!!

Above you can see the title Merry Christmas. This was from the barstrip of the Salutations patterned paper. Just perfect for the added extra title on a layout.

And I have embellished my layout with lots of gorgeous tones of reds and greens from 49andMarket’s great selection of florals. These have been dusted in white gesso and the centres have been coloured with gold. I have also added some Star Dust stickles over the flowers to make them glittery too.

Floral Mixology Blood Orange

Botanical Potpourri Grenadine

Floral Mixology Mojito

All the Chipboards used are from the new Dusty Attic release. These were dressed in white gesso and gold Acrylic paint. I also addded Star Dust Stickles to some of them.

And I have also added in a little lace to help softten the layout.

Well that is all from me today. I do hope you have enjoyed my first festive layout using the Winter’s Edge collection.

Until next time take care and happy crafting.
