This 16 “x 16” large-format layout was made on a MDF base covered with linen and a second layer of chipboard 12’x12′ in linen with delicate patterns highlighted with brushstrokes of white gouache paint.
Between these two layers several elements were fixed, sets with cotton lace, fibers, die cuts, buttons, and tags In these small sets sews were applied to give an artisanal aspect. In the central composition, many layers of frames, labels, ephemera, and die cuts highlight the old photo in darker tones.
I used two collections of different tones, but complementary. The Vintage Artistry Natural collection is very similar to the shades of the fabrics, but the gives us the right highlight, without many contrasts, as was my desire when I idealized this layout as something soft, natural, and almost rustic.
