Hi dear Creatives Friends!
This is a sad time for me. A dear friend of mine was injured in a motorboat accident in October, she sustained a head injury and after being on life support and in a coma, she passed away a few days ago. She was such a vibrant beautiful person in every way, my heart is broken. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched.
I wanted to celebrate her and created this layout in her honor. This photograph was taken the day I met her.
The layered background was created with “Vintage Artistry Shore: Tidepool” and “Vintage Artistry NAtural: Painted Ladies”. I trimmed the “Vintage Artistry Shore: Tidepool” to 11.5” by 11.5” and adhered it to the “Vintage Artistry Natural: Painted Ladies” after the edges were distressed.
I absolutely fell in love with the “Vintage Artistry Color Rub-On Transfers” and used some of the Coral elements to enhance the background. I also stenciled texture paste dots randomly across the page to create interest and dimension on the page.
I raised the photograph with board and build the layers behind the photograph with elements from the “Vintage Artistry Shore Ephemera Stack”, some gauze, and a stitched frame from “Coral Stitched Frames”. The edges are distressed and some pieces are raised.
I did not want to distract from the striking photograph, so I chose natural-colored flowers to embellish with. I love small flowers so I took from various packs the ones I liked. “Maura’s Vineyard: Chardonnay”, “Pixi Petals: Parchment” and “Sugar Petals: Butterscotch”. The foliage color was a little too bright but my eye caught these push-out leaves from the “Vintage Artistry in Color” collection and it worked perfectly!
To complete the layout, I added a little chipboard swirl colored with Gold Wax and raised a push-out sentiment from the “Vintage Artistry in Color” Collection as the title of the layout. I randomly added Gold Glass Glitter and Gold Ink splatters to the layout. I added a few “Wishing Bubbles: Crush” to finish off. And a few small Guiney Fowl feathers as a personal touch.
