Hi, 49 and Market fans!
Here is my first creation of February, I used lots of elements from the beautiful new Curators Botanical collection including the 4″ Fabric Tape Vintage Plaid, it is perfect to make the background of a layout.
On a thick 12″x12″ cardboard I glued 3 strips of Curators Essential – 4″ Fabric Tape Vintage Plaid. The fabric tapes are repositionable so it’s very easy to change their place if you are wrong or badly positioned. Then I put a layer of clear gesso over the entire surface since I knew I would be playing with inks and water on the background of my layout. On the background of my page, I used Gabi’s Stoic Stamp Set with Versamark and then I embossed it with Honey color embossing powder.
I layered 2 pieces of books from Curators Essential – Bookplates to make it look like a real book. Under and over the book I have many pieces of various packaging from the Curators Botanical collection. I inked the outline of all the pieces before gluing them, it gives a little old-fashioned look. I added a vintage paper doll from Tim Holtz.
On the Roman numeral resin casting pieces, I made a rust effect, I started by putting a textured paint and then I played with a few colors on top.
Now a moment that I love, flower arrangements, I used burnt orange, yellow, and other flowers, I added a little touch of mauve with 3 small paper flowers from Curators Botanical – Laser Cut Elements and put some foliage. To make the flowers more vintage, I used an embossing pencil, I spread a little in the middle and around each flower and I sprinkled a little embossing glaze Vintage photo and I heated on heat gun.
With Pascale’s Rations Stamp Set I stamped here and there with brown permanent ink. I used a few colors of Fluid Acrylic mixed with water to make big ink spots around my composition. I did lots of beige and orange drops all over the background. I put your stains and coffee circles on the background of my page and everywhere with the Curators Botanical – 6×8 Botanical Rub-on Transfer Set.
