Hello, dear 49 and Market fans!
Do you like the winter season? Although it’s cold and rainy outside, I like it a lot, and couldn’t wait to use this wintery photo made by Michelle Jean, a photographer focused on birds, animals, and nature. Maybe you don’t know, but I own a parrot, so this gives you an idea of how much I love birds 🙂 Moreover, the photo has the combo colors I love, this is brown and blue. So it was just to be fun working on this project for you.
The first thing I do was covering the background paper from Old School mini collection with clear gesso. This way, it was protected against the water and inks I was going to use. I also glued the paper down over a 2mm cardboard. Using a stencil, I added some texture with white crackle texture paste and heat dry. Then, I took blue and brown inks from Lindy’s and started playing with them to add some more color to the paper. When dry, I made random stamping here and there.
Chipboards were all inked with the same Lindy’s colors, except for the branches – which were covered with sand paste- and the title -painted with black sparkles paint. When everything was ready and dry, I started creating the composition. I love to see birds over branches, so I was completely sure of working first with the branches and adding the flowers and other elements afterward. For a little more brightness, I added some beads, microbeads, and sequins. Then, finished the layout adding some splashes with white acrylic paint.
