The new Vintage Artistry Blush collection is swoon worthy and it inspired me to scrap these photos of my beautiful niece from when she was a baby. I love the fact that her little bloomers match the floral of the papers.
When I started laying out the page, I decided that it really needed a border to bring out the green in the patterned paper. Hunting through the collections I found that the backside of Paper 2 from VA Collectors Volume 1 was the perfect colour green. As I can’t waste paper, I cut out a square from the inside of this paper, leaving only a one-inch piece around the outside. I then cut down the Radiate Paper from VA Blush by ¼ inch before adhering to the green. This gave me a small green edge around the outside of the page which I think really holds your eye within the page. My sewing machine is broken at the moment, so I used some of the Roughly Sewn Rub-ons in white at the top and bottom of the page.
There are so many interesting elements on the VA Blush Radiate paper that I wanted to take advantage of, so I placed my photos to that the stitching on the background showed at the top of the photos and the flowers bracketed them. With the use of the little stacked doily from the laser cut elements from the VA Blush Collection pack, it now looks like the doily stack has been sewn down at the top of the photos.
I then layered and clustered various elements from the laser cut elements from the VA Blush Collection pack, Wishing Bubbles and Baubles – Blush and Sugar Stems – Fluff flowers at the bottom left and bottom right corners of the photos. These clusters add onto the beautiful flowers in the background from the VA Blush Artistry paper.
The final touch is a cute title from the back of the cover page of the VA Blush Collection Pack. I love that there is this bonus paper in the collection pack. 49 and Market papers cut beautifully in my Silhouette Cameo as they are so lovely and heavy. I then used a little heart from the Wish Bubbles and Baubles – Blush to dot the I. A touch of Stickles to the title just finishes it off.
These photos of sweet little Izzy are now documented beautifully.
