Hello, 49 and Market fans!
Thanks for coming one more day here to the blog. Today I share with you a layout I was really happy to create for you. When I first saw this black and white photo I decided to ask Joël (@jojo_mars) to lend it to me to create a new page. Creating with b/w photos lets you use any color range you prefer but I feel a little bit insecure as I work better with colorful photos. So it took me a week to find a color combo I liked to start working.
I also knew that I wanted to use circles. I had no reason for it, it was just a willing. So I looked into my stash until I found my precious Carabelle stamp and started the project by creating some color circles with the Butter Vintage Artistry Collection. To add some shades and interest, I used a stencil and vintage photo ink from Distress. When this was ready, it was the moment to work with the background. I chose a paper from the Natural collection and covered it with clear gesso. Afterward, I added a white crackle paste through a stencil and stamped it randomly with black ink. For coloring, I used Lindy’s starbursts and Magicals in teal, gold, and black colors.
While the background was drying aside, I took the time to paint my chipboards and select the words I finally added as the title and text. Once everything was ready and dry, I started to create the composition: firstly the circles, then the flowers, and lastly, the chipboards. When this was clear, I took some papers from the Sage Stacks and from the butter collection to mat the photo. Then I glued all down and added some other embellishments, as Wishing bubbles, beads… To finish the project, I made sure to add some old gold wax, white gesso, and teal color splashes around.
