Harmony by Karola Witczak

Hello everyone! Karola here with my very first 49 and Market DT post (I can’t express how excited I am!).
Today I would like to share with you a layout with a photo of me and my 2017 word “Harmony”.
I strongly believe that everyone needs  perfect harmony in their life – just between private and professional parts of them, between a real privacy and that part which is a sign of current times – sharing lives on social media. Harmony is also very important while creating, right? So, for the good beginning I started with a page in my favourite colors and techniques.

For the background I chose Tattered paper from Vintage Artistry collection. Very versatile and perfect for adding some colors on it, like I did. Firstly I covered paper with white gesso and added a bit of watercolor splashes. Then stamped brick wall motifs from Gabi’s Texture Stamp Set – I love how versatile  the designs from this set are – you can try it freely with any style you want!

As we talk about stamping… I couldn’t resist and I wanted to use Feathers Stamp Set with one of my absolutely favourite motifs – feathers! I stamped a few feathers and leaves (from Gabi’s Texture Stamp Set) on watercolor paper and colored them using the same colors like for the background. Then I fussy cut them out and used the paper feathers and leaves just as an embellies.

To build my page layers and to add a beautiful, feminine look, I chose Sanctuary and Cut Outs papers from Heirloom Botanicals collection. Amazingly sweet, warm and oh-so-stunning motifs, ready to cut out.

Flowers are my huge addition. For sure. It’s strongly possible that I have never created a page without flowers. And just take a look at these beauties from 49 and Market! To build my flowers arrangement I used:  brand new Vintage Shades – Blue Blossoms, Vintage Shades – Ecru BouquetVintage Shades – Orchid Bouquet and  Multi – Creamy Pink flowers sets. Highest quality and stunning, muted colors was exactly what I needed.

For the end, I added some finishing touches like a little bit of white gesso on the top of the layers and small black splashes (watercolor paint) to create a nice contrast.

I hope I was able to inspire you a bit today! Have a wonderful, creative weekend 49 and Market fans!
