Hello, 49 and Market fans!

Thanks for heading over the blog today, where I have a new layout to be shared with you! First I will make a question to you: where do you find inspiration? I love looking for it through Instagram. I look for and save all projects that inspire me. It could be the composition, the colors, or some of the products used on it. Sometimes is just something that pops up on my eyes, saying: that’s a great idea! I don’t save only layouts: I also get my inspiration from canvases, altered objects, and even short tutorials.

The layout I bring to you today is one of those. I got inspired some time ago from an altered object that reminded me about old cinemas and films. And it matched with this wonderful photo of Lucía Alonso made by the photographer Alberto Monteraz. So I got a clear idea of what I wanted to create. It took more time than I expected, I should say. Firstly, I created the background with some white crackle texture paste over a stencil and also with a palette. While it was air drying, I took some time to look for the colors and played with them over the background until I was happy with the result.

The night before I worked with moulds and air clay to create some cogs and mechanical pieces, so I painted them in chocolate brown and applied a coat of Vintage gold wax to add some interest and brightness. Some chipboards were heat embossed with Antiquities powders (I have been using them for almost eight years!) I also took a pack of gorgeous 49&Market new flowers and a film strip and started the composition. I first glued down all resins, then flowers and finally chipboards, extra leaves, and the film strip. Then, it was time for the photo: it has been mat with laser cuts from Natural and Sage Vintage Artistry collections. I took layered embellishments to add some around the project. Finally, some art stones and microbeads to add texture.
