Hello, 49 and Market fans and welcome to the blog!
Today, I want to share with you the story behind this photo made by Katya Gorynina (@katyagorynina). I found it some weeks ago, in November 2020, and asked for permission to use it. It was made thinking about fairytales and remembering when we were children and believed in magical places. I remembered those times and wanted to use this photo to create a fairytale layout using the amazing products we have at 49 & Market.
The only thing I was completely sure about was using the Wedgewood layered embellishments. Have you seen them? They are full of magic and they bring us to special landscapes and forests. So I chose a paper from the same collection in orange and put over the leaves circle. This was my starting point. Conversely from what I always do, I then focused on matting the photo with Sage Nouveau stacks and put it in the center of the circle.
Something I really love about the new Rub-on transfers are those that imitate paint splashes. So I took some rub-ons from different collections and started putting them here and there. Borders were perfect to add stitched transfers and I also added some texts here and there to create some points of interest. I fall in love with a beautiful rub-on with some text and a butterfly, and add it on the right side to create a second focus spot.
When all of this was done, I started to play with flowers. You may know how much I love 49&Market flowers. I just mix and match all of them from different packages to create a more textured composition. I selected some flowers in salmon and tutti frutti, along with a little bit of parchment and white. To finish the layout I added paper sequins from the collection here and there.
