Hello Creative Friends!
I’m back on the blog today with another single-page layout. With the recent visit of my sisters still fresh in my mind, I created this layout to preserve this special memory. The coloring in the photograph led me to yellow, not a color that I usually scrap with, but a color that has featured quite a lot lately in my work. The Vintage Artistry Butter is sunny and warm and friendly and leaves me with a feeling of happiness. I love this relaxed and happy photograph of my sisters and me.
For the background I used the Vintage Artistry Butter: Serenity and the green paper is from another collection, Vintage Artistry Noel: Aquifolium. I trimmed the Serenity paper to 11.5” x 11.5” and distressed it on three sides, the top edge I punched with a border punch and adhered it to the green sheet of paper.
The layers behind my photograph are made up of the following elements: a stitched 3”x4” frame, a bookplate from Vintage Artistry Naturalist Bookplates, and a random piece of paper. To accentuate the layers, I added Rub-on Transfer leaves in between the layers. The photo is raised with cardboard to give it more depth. I added two photo turns for a little interest. The chipboard title was colored with Distress Oxide: Gathered Twiggs. I added the yellow chevron rub-on transfers randomly on the background.
I created an embellishment cluster on the left-hand side. I added Gold Glass Glitter and splattered it with Champagne All-Purpose Ink. All used elements from the Vintage Artistry laser cut sheet, like the butterflies and stamps to add interest to the cluster and of course some Guiney Fowl feathers.
I repeated the flower cluster on the righthand side. There I also added three sentiment strips, raised on foam tape.
