Hello dear 49 and Market friends and fans. It’s Autumn here in Slovenia. I love Autumn with all its rich colors, leaves falling down… just looking at the grass makes me smile and makes me happy, so colorful it is! Last year when I was walking my kids in school in the mornings I always passed by this gorgeous ginkgo tree and it was late Autumn and it was also loosing its leaves. Ginkgo yellow leaves are so so beautiful. When I saw this gorgeous photo I immediately remembered of the leaves I had stored from previous year and decided to do something pretty with both together. I hope you’ll like it.
I started out by selecting this gorgeous paper from Vintage Remnants collection called “Paper No 02”, which coordinated perfectly with the Autumn photo I was planning to scrap. I decided to position my composition in the bottom left corner of my layout. I always put some cardboard behind my photo to lift it up from the base a bit, so I can stuck part of embellishments underneath.
I decorated around the photo using some natural dried yellow ginkgo leaves and also some natural dried tree lichen. It’s one of my favourite natural materials to work with. I added some beautiful yellow flowers for a contrast and some gorgeous Layered Embellishments from Serendipitous Mini Collection. I also used some of The Dusty Attic chipboards with ginkgo leaves. I left them uncolored, as I wanted to add a bit to a raw, natural feel of the layout. For a finishing touch I added some splashes with my paintbrush and heavily diluted white acrylic paint.
