Carpe Diem by Karola Witczak

Hello everyone, it’s Karola here with another inspiration for you!
For my today’s blog post I created a layout with photo of me. I perfectly remember the time when the photo was taken – it was during one of my workshops last year – great time with amazing people, full of creativity and positive vibes. The title says one of my favorite mottos: Carpe Diem – Catch the day!

I used here mostly Vintage Artistry collection papers. Its neutral, earth tones are really versatile and great to build colorful page as well. I was follow the blue color from my t-shirt on the photo and used acrylic paint to color layers on my page.

I decided to use tons of flowers here – a page without flowers is not possible here in 49 and Market, because we have a lot of amazing flowers in any shape and color you want! I choose Garden Vine in Pale Lavender and Alabaster colors to build the base for my flower clusters. To complete the colors balance I added also Garden Bloom – Pale Lavender and tiny green roses .

Dimensional embellishment are fantastic – did you saw it in person? I love it! I have even a small tip to make them more dimensional and fancy – you can use your embossing heating tools to warm a little bit the plastic leaves, then they will twist and shrink slightly. Pretty cool, huh? Just take a look on a close-up:

On the end I added stamping on the page edges, using Gabi’s Line Stitch Stamp Set. As the final touch I made a few pink, white and dark brown splashes and a bit of white gesso here and there, just to create a fancy, mixed media look of my page.

I hope I was able to inspire you a little bit today!
