Hi everyone!
Today I show you another creation with a background made with the new Washi Tape. They are so versatile and repositionable. Here in Quebec, it’s cold, it’s snowing, I don’t like winter so I wanted to make a creation in colors reminiscent of spring and summer, to do this I used lots of elements from the new ARToptions Avesta collection. I love this collection with its soft and punchy colors at the same time.
To make the background I used a thick cardboard, I put two coats of white gesso everywhere. Then I used the three widths of Curators Essential Fabric Tape Set – All Black to make black tapes. To make it less clean I took a needle to pull threads on the edges of the strips of washi tape.
The wooden circles are embroidery circles, two are only the inside. I painted them with two colors of metallic paint and rubbed here and there with matte white wax. In the first circle, I put a nice picture of a business that went very well with the colors of this collection. In the second I simply stuck a piece of Curators Essential – 4″ Washi Tape Roll – Letterbox on a piece of cardboard. In the third, I took a piece of Vintage Artistry Mango – Ginger Peach paper and put a flower rub-on on it.
To decorate all this I made beautiful bouquets with some colors of flowers. I cut lots of foliage with a die in the Vintage Artistry Sage – Echoes paper, then I colored them with Dark forest metallic paint by tapping with a sponge. Around the bouquets of flowers, I put some flower rub-ons. I added some lace and butterflies still from the ARToptions Avesta collection.
You start to know me I finished with lots of little drops of white ink.
