Fairy Altar by Valia Katzaki

Hello 49 and Market friends and welcome to the blog!

It’s Valia Katzaki  here with you today and I am so happy to show you an “off-the-page” project I created with my beloved 49 and market products. Its a sweet and almost mythical fairy altar!

I cut squares of the “Lost Postcard” paper and glued it on my wooden cube. I did some stenciling and misting, I distressed the edges for a torn look and glued on the decorative legs. After that I applied rust paste to immitate soil.

Then the fun begun! I fussy cut a fairy from the “At the Quarry” paper and some flowers from the “Lost Postcard” paper. The paper is so thick that the fairies can be adjusted on the altar with no extra leverage. I love great quality in my art supplies! After glueing the fairy and flowers, I decorated the top of my altar with moss, 49 and Market Flowers and some frayed burlap. I accented my composition with coriander seeds, a small pinecone and pieces of wood. I applied rust paste on my flowers too for a more realistic look.

A view from the top. My fairies are truly coming to life!
